The City of Marshall is seeking qualified applicants to be placed on a waiting list for the position of Police Officer.

Starting salary is $28,725 (annually) with normal increases to $31,346 with one year of service, and a full range of fringe benefits.

The City of Marshall
Marshall was founded in 1839 and is the Seat of Government of Saline County. Population is estimated at 13,000 and consists of about 10 square miles. It has a Mayor-Council form of government and the Police Department operates under the Merit System.
The City has a 325-acre park including swimming pool, paved tennis courts, fishing lakes, excellent picnic areas, lighted ball diamonds, and golf course.
Marshall has excellent elementary and high schools, and is the home of Missouri Valley College (a four-year, liberal arts college).
The residents enjoy a low crime rate and high quality of life.
The Marshall Police Department
The Police Department consists of 24 sworn officers. The Department provides full law enforcement services on a 24-hour basis within the City, and has a wide range of duties for Officers. This includes: Detectives, Traffic Accident Investigation and Enforcement, Drug Investigation, Crime Prevention, Training, D.A.R.E., Bicycle Patrol, and Community Oriented Policing.
The Police Station is fully computerized and houses the Law Enforcement Offices, Records Center, Jail, Enhanced 911 Emergency Dispatch Center, Detective Offices, Training room, and Emergency Operations Center.
Promotions within the Department are based upon demonstrated ability and performance.
